About Jake
Jake Aks is an Emmy nominated director, editor, and cinematographer based out of Chicago, IL. He currently works at Northwestern Athletics as the Assistant Director of Creative Video. He is responsible for video content production and coverage for all 19 sports, specifically Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball.
Jake graduated from DePaul University with a BFA in Film and Television production concentrated in Cinematography. At DePaul, Jake worked with the Men’s Basketball team as a video content producer, where he helped his department win a 2023 NACMA award for best social campaign for their throwback jersey release.
Prior to his time at Northwestern, Jake worked at Major League Baseball as an Associate Content Producer, where he covered over 100 games in the span of two seasons.
Jake also has worked on a number of short films as the Director of Photography. Including the 2024 short film “Bea” which was an official selection at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
